$600 dollar dishwasher is 6 months old and broken down for the second time. Ge customer service portal is literal hell. It took me over an hour to talk to anyone who then said they couldn't help and to call another number the next day. This has been going on for 3 days and they screwed up the workorder yesterday, so my dishwasher WONT EVEN HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT UNTIL NEXT MONDAY a week after I started this process. Then they will order parts so ATLEAST 2 weeks without a dishwasher that's 6 months old. I will never by another GE product and I hope I never have to go through there AI phone robot again. Ive got 2 hours in phone calls and I still don't have an appointment set to get it looked at!!!!!!

GE, American made appliances used to mean it was built to last. Apparently that's not the case anymore. Less than 2 years ago I spent $1,200 plus tax plus another $200 for an extended warranty on this washing machine. It is a GE Smart HQ washing machine. I bought it brand new from Lowe's. I only got the warranty out of an abundance of caution because this is an all electrical wi-fi-enabled machine that requires updates, so if anything went wrong with it, it would not be something I can fix myself. I did not expect to have to use the warranty this soon. For the past 6 months it has been very glitchy and not wanting to drain loads even though I keep the washing machine regularly cleaned and I also regularly check the drain filter in the bottom front right corner of the machine, which I've also never actually found any debris in. Could not figure out why I was having this issue but I was always able to get it fixed so I thought maybe the load was just off balance or something, even though they were not large loads so it should not have been overloaded. Well at the start of the weekend I put a small load of towels in the washing machine, and I turned it on to an hour-long cycle. It made it 15 minutes into the cycle and then the washing machine said "end cycle" and it shut itself off, as if it had completed the entire cycle. It was still full of water. I turned it on again, it did the same thing except this time it made it 30 minutes into the cycle and when it said "end cycle" the door would not unlock. Since it's the weekend, customer service everywhere is closed and I did not want to leave these towels in my washing machine all weekend to grow mildew. I looked at my manual that came with the washing machine and found nothing helpful in that so I resorted to Googling it and found how to enter the machine into diagnostic mode and found instructions that said turn it to option 13 and it should automatically unlock the door, I did that and the light that says "extra light" flashed but nothing happened with the door. It also said try unplugging the machine for up to 20 minutes to give the main power supply time to drain its residual power & the door should automatically unlock itself. I tried that and it also did not work so at this point I'm stuck waiting until Monday (yesterday) to call Lowe's Protection Plan Plus to set up an appointment to have a technician come out and look at it, thankfully he was able to make it today. He got here and was able to get the door open and immediately my entire house filled with the most disgusting odor. The load of towels is completely ruined I will never be able to get that smell out. I don't have many clean towels left, and on top of that the ones that are ruined were only a couple of months old. The technician tells me that the issue is the drain pump burnt out completely and would not turn itself on so since it couldn't drain, it couldn't finish the load. He also said the reason the drain pump went out is because of an issue with the main control unit, and that this is very common for these specific appliances. He went ahead and ordered me a new drain pump and a new control unit but he said it would be probably a week maybe more before it gets in and is able to be fixed due to having to wait for approval from my warranty and other things. I don't have enough towels left for my family for a week I don't have enough money to buy more and I don't have a way to wash the ones I do have now. I have had this machine 2 years. It took a year and a half for it to start having problems. For a $1200+ machine, this is unacceptable. If your company is not confident enough in your appliances to give it at least a 10 year manufacturer's warranty, covering any and all issues not directly related to physical damage caused by the consumer (like dropping it), then the machine doesn't need to be on shelves. That simple. This is an obvious case of planned obsolescence, which is already illegal in some other countries and should be illegal here as well. Do better.

We built a ew house in 2019. I chose all GE appliances. We have had to have the French door refrigerator fixed 2 times. It stops cooling. I have an old GE refrigerator in our garage, one with the motor in the top, that has never been serviced. It still runs great. I am going to have to go buy another refrigerator (the one I have we paid over $2,000 for.) No, we didn’t get a warranty. I just stupidly assumed the appliances would last at least 10 years or more. My grandfather worked and retired from GE many years ago. All their appliances were GE and when I got married in 1974 they gave e their ‘old’ washer and dryer. I used them for years before I sold them to a friend. I wanted a front loader. Nothing wrong with the machines. The lady used them for years. Whatever happened to quality? We pay more but get less. My GE gas stove and dish washer still work. My microwave gets testy at times but is still working.

If delivering, they're on extended lunch from 1045ish to noonish, so don't bother getting here then or you'll just sit and wait. Door 13 for aluminum coils from Ohio. Receiver said if he isn't there, we can open the dock door and back in. Door controls are on the wall just inside the man door. About an hour to unload.

In 2019 we purchased this washer dryer combo. It lasted a little over two years. Out of warranty GE gave us the machine shown in these pictures at a little over half price. You can watch the video to see how it currently performs. When the service tech came to fix the first machine he told us to roll and position our laundry equally around tube. What a ridiculous solution to this violent action on every spin cycle on a small or medium load. So we paid full price and half price for two machines that are garbage. Today we surrendered and purchased a new Electrolux. GE was once a valued brand in our household. Not anymore! We are done with GE products for good.
