Hidden Fees and Deception - Do yourself a favor and avoid CT Appliance entirely. I purchased a $2,300 in-wall oven and walked out the door having been nickel-and-dimed at every turn. Before committing, I specifically asked the salesperson, “Are you 100% sure this oven will fit in my existing wall cutout?” His answer? “It should.” When I pushed back and said “should” wasn’t good enough — that I needed a guarantee — he informed me that a measurement visit would cost an additional $100. Mind you, this was on top of the $350 installation fee I had already agreed to for what turned out to be a 20-minute job. I agreed to the $100 measurement visit. He then charged my credit card $125 — a number he never quoted me. The measurement visit revealed that 3 cuts would need to be made to my blonde wood cabinetry. CT Appliance’s price for that? $100 per cut — another $300. Let’s do the math: • Oven: $2,300 • Installation (20 minutes of work): $350 • Measurement visit (quoted $100, charged $125): $125 • Cabinet modifications: $300 • Total: $3,075 What started as a $2,300 purchase ballooned into over $3,000 through a steady drip of fees that were either hidden, misquoted, or invented on the spot. This isn’t incompetence — it’s a practiced sales strategy designed to get you committed before the real costs emerge. Shop elsewhere. There are appliance stores that treat customers with honesty and respect. CT Appliance is not one of them.

Eileen was super helpful. We knew what we wanted to buy. She didn't pressure us to make a purchase, she educated us. She showed us several options, looked up data on the computer, and created a relaxed shopping experience for us.

A very mixed experience. We needed to install a new range and downdraft ventilation in an existing kitchen island and it was clearly a bit of a complicated project. Our sales person was always responsive and I think tried quite hard to be helpful. However, our installer was quite difficult to work with and we ended up having someone else complete the installation. It turns out that our installer was an independent contractor and did not work for CAFD directly and I think that was where most of our problems arose. I would just be a bit cautious if you have a project with any kind of complicated installation or coordination. Of note, we did actually buy a fireplace insert from CAFD a few years back and the measurement and installation for that project did not go completely smoothly either.
