I am giving a 1 star because out of the at least 4 times they were scheduled to come out, they showed up once, so I guess that counts for something. Scheduled repair visits, tech would not show, never can get a person to answer the phone or return a call. When the tech came out he didn’t even want to turn the dryer on said they would just order all new parts, did not even know what was wrong with it. Said it would take 2 weeks, never came back. If you have time to sit around your house all day multiple days a week, for nothing, then this is your company. The absolute worst customer service and experience. Fortunately GE sent another company out after 2+weeks and fixed it same day.

We recently purchased a new GE washer and dryer. The dryer, which had a steam cycle option, developed a small leak after about two weeks of use. De Soto Appliance, a recommended service company near us, was the nearest option since the appliance was still under warranty. The technician arrived promptly and diagnosed the issue within five minutes. He explained that the hose responsible for the steam had been kinked during installation and was causing the leak. He assured us that he would order the replacement part and return it within a week, stating to make myself avail between 8am -12pm However, when the day arrived, they failed to call or show up. They apologized and rescheduled the repair, but they again did not call or show up on the second attempt. Frustrated by the repeated lack of communication and punctuality, I expressed my unwillingness to wait any longer. I requested that they call me as soon as they were on their way to my house. They informed me that they would arrive between 10 and noon, but they still did not call or show up. At 1:30 p.m., they finally arrived, but I informed them that i'm not home. I contacted GE and requested a new service company. I am now receiving proper and effective repairs for my dryer with a different organization. The new company calls and shows up and they specifically service GE.

I had a terrible experience with DeSoto Appliance & Repair. After my Whirlpool stackable washer stopped responding, I paid $150 for a "diagnostic" visit. The technician spent barely five minutes checking the outlet before claiming it was the power board. I was quoted $694.20 for the repair—nearly the cost of a new unit—but I agreed to it because the dryer still worked. The nightmare began when they returned with the part and it didn’t fix the problem. They then demanded an additional $235 for a different part but refused to guarantee that the second "fix" would actually work. To make matters worse, they ignored my request to keep the original parts they removed and the owner refused to speak with me, claiming he "doesn't talk to customers." This isn't a repair service; it’s expensive trial and error at the customer's expense. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I have been buying my appliances from them for 20 years. They are nice hard working people that get the job done. If you need appliance repairs or a new one this is the place to go. They won't make you wait long for their help. Thank you DeSoto Appliance!
