Do not get mower services here. My lawn mower kept stopping. I have no experience with lawn mower repair and took it here. They asked me prior to repair and inspection what the max amount I was willing to pay was and charged me that amount after, and the only thing they did was replace the air filter… the lawn mower broke again after just one use, and they said I would need to pay again to get it looked at.

Excellent honest customer service! Dropped off our vintage Maytag dryer and it was fixed in less than four days! They didn’t charge us an arm and a leg either!!! The biggest challenge was getting the dryer there and back, luckily my husband had a friendly coworker willing and able to help!! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fair price and honest opinion when seeking a house hold appliance.

I had a very negative experience when trying to get a quote for work on my lawn mower. Instead of calling me with the quote as we discussed, they fixed the lawn mower to the tune of $105 without my approval and then never contacted me. The thing only cost $150 to start with (and I got it for free as a hand-me-down) and I told them at the beginning I wasn’t going to invest a lot in it, but thought I’d check to see if it was an easy fix. It wasn’t until I called to check on the quote (3 days after bringing the mower in) that I was informed they fixed it. The man on the phone told me “well, we didn’t call you.” And “if you don’t want it, we’ll just sell it to someone else.” Not only did they never apologize or own up to their poor communication, but they suggested I should simply let them have my property, to sell. It does not make any sense to do $105 worth of work on an piece of equipment without quoting this to your customer and getting their approval- especially when your customer directly asks you for a quote before moving forward. It does not make any sense to then, also, not call your customer to let them know what’s going on. After going back into the store for a very uncomfortable confrontation, the only solution I was offered other than, again, letting THEM sell it, was that they’d remove all of the parts they put on and I could pick it up the following day for a $35 service charge. I refused to pay them anything and fortunately they agreed to remove the parts and give me the lawn mower back. I even offered to pay them $50 for their work so they wouldn’t have to spend more time taking the parts off and take a complete loss, but they wouldn’t consider that offer. I am not sure if they thought they were going to take advantage of me as a customer because I am a young female who knows nothing about lawn equipment, or if this was simply a fluke and serious breakdown of communication. Regardless, I was not treated with respect or any form of customer service. I do not recommend you trust this business.

I was referred to Scotty's by a friend and I am so glad I was! The service was fast, efficient and surprisingly affordable. It's all offered in a comfortable family-run atmosphere complete with witty banter from Scotty and other customers. There's even a friendly dog to pet in the mix for good measure. Great first experience and I would recommend them!

I really want to like them since they are local and good people but when I went in to ask about a mower belt the man told me he had to have the part number. Instead of asking me questions about my mower and searching for the part number for me I had to search for the part number myself. This was very easily done by me but I felt that they really lacked the skills to effectively help me and thus they lost the sale. Not a very profitable sale for them to lose but anyway........
