S & S Vac Appliance & Sewing

My review may be lengthy but worth reading! First, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. S&S is literally the best repair shop I have ever dealt with. And they are not just a repair shop. They are a full service dealer of a wide array of products. My story starts with a Fisher Price Power Wheels Barbie Camper that stopped working. My granddaughter was heartbroken and so naturally so were we (grandma and grandpa). Fisher Price stopped making them a couple years ago so no way to replace it. It is in perfect condition except when you stepped on the pedal it simply would not go. We called Fisher Price and they were no help. We tried finding someone to repair it to no avail until we located S&S. We brought it to their store and were met by the nicest, friendliest, most knowledgeable and honest couple who own the business. I felt like I was with my best friends after meeting them. After explaining what was wrong, they said it was possible the gear box was bad, which is common, but would not know until getting inside and checking. If that was the problem, they quoted a repair estimate, and we left. About 15 minutes into our considerably long ride home, they called and said the camper was working perfectly after they tested it with a new battery. They concluded that the original 6 year old battery I had been using was no longer charging sufficiently to make it go! They had the right battery in stock and that was all they charged me for. No fee for looking at it or testing it. Just the charge for the battery which was half of the repair charge they had quoted. They very easily could have said they replaced the gear box and charged me what they had quoted and made extra money on this. But they are wonderful, honest people who are extremely good at what they do, which is provide tremendous, honest and friendly customer service. I am thrilled that my granddaughter and future grandkids will be able to enjoy this toy thanks to S&S. I absolutely 100% recommend them to anyone in need of the services or products they provide. You will be as happy as I am if you do!!

Stu is awesome! I went there today to have him help me fix my Miele vacuum wand that I broke when I was vacuuming under my bed. I had trouble getting the wand to stay extended- after countless tries I headed up to have him give me a hand, I needed more bags anyway so I figured he would be able to figure out it. He told me a spring popped out when the extension handle came off(I thought I broke a piece of plastic). Stu tried countless springs he had on hand to no avail- Instead of selling me an $80 replacement wand, he suggested I go home and try looking for the spring that popped off. He said maybe it was vacuumed up in my bag, or it was under still under the bed. He even suggested I could use a hose clamp to hold it open at full extension. Talk about a great guy- He could have just told me I needed the new $80 wand! Well, I went home and gave a good look…There it was!! Laying under the bed on my hardwood floor was the spring I had lost. Stu really is the best, and gave me every other option besides selling me a new wand. Stu is honest-that is rare trait these days. Thank you so much Stu! There is a reason I drive 40 minutes to give you my business- I wouldn’t buy a vacuum from anyone else! If you need a vacuum, sewing machine, or any appliance parts, THIS IS THE PLACE! If I could give more than five stars I would!

I brought in my vintage Singer Rocketeer (501) for a timing issue. They not only fixed it, but they gave the whole machine a tuneup and fixed two other issues that I didn't even mention, the lid kept popping off and one of the pop up thread springs had broken. They must have done a very thorough inspection of my machine in order to find those issues! It's running better than ever, I love this machine!

Highly recommend. It's run by a delightful couple who know sewing machines and are so pleasant to everyone. Not only did they fix my sewing machine in less than a day, but Bunny spent almost an hour with me answering questions about how to do various things with my machine. This was the first time I met them and I'm so happy I found them. I will never go anywhere else to have my sewing machine serviced. This is definitely the place for sewing machine repair and service.
