Jefferson Appliance Svc

Went to the address and the address is not correct, went to a store to find them they said that they went out of business so I tried to call n all i got was an answer machine, so I drove 1 hour there n hour back, finally I went to galax Virginia. They r losing business since the address is not correct need to up date address n have an receptionist to answer calls.

I had an appliance issue at my home with my oven with the heating element not working. Swapping out a heating element is simple, so I didn’t want to bother my normal repair guy - Brad Scott from Ashe Appliance in Todd, who is Amazing. He does great work for a reasonable and honest price. I saw Jefferson Appliance was closer so I went to see if they had the part. I should have went to Ashe Appliance after all. When I get to Jefferson Appliance, the doors were locked with a note “Be back ASAP” on the door during normal business hours. After getting back in my car, a man walked out carrying a part. The office was closed due to the only office person being out with health issues…I just happened to catch the owner/repair guy stopping by to pick something up. I was able to purchase the part from him but when I installed it, I found out the stove had an electrical malfunction and it was not the element after all. I had to purchase a new stove that same day and went back to Jefferson Appliance to try and return the part, but no one was there. I do not live full-time in the area and had to leave town that afternoon. I called Jefferson appliance when headed back to the area and explained (on a voicemail message) that the element wasn't the problem after all and I have receipt for the new stove to show I purchased it the same day and wanted to return the UNUSED part I purchased from them. I can’t even say for sure the part they sold me wasn't defective because I was never able to heat it in my oven after installing. It was simply removed within minutes of the installation. So better hope you never get a bad part from them with a manufacturing issue...you're just out of luck if you do. The element could still be sold as a “new” part since it's never been heated up and was spotless. A female owner returned my call and left me a voicemail. She was very short, used a very rude tone, was not friendly at all, and said that she always tells people “Make sure you need the part because there are absolutely NO returns” - which I wasn’t told when I bought it because SHE wasn’t there. After saying that she just hung up. WOW, what great customer service…I purchase a part 1 time and want to return it unused (again, what if it was a bad part?) and they won’t work with you at all - HORRIBLE. She didn't even offer a return with a restocking fee or a credit for future repairs or anything just so rude. I have owned a home in the area for years and have met so many amazing people for mulch and stone and plumbing and electrical and have never had any business owner treat me this way. Maybe she was having a bad day, not sure but will never go back. Guess all the reviews were from family members and friends or people they know who think they are the only appliance repair people in the area. Or maybe things have changed for some reason over the last year or so which is when the reviews came in. Either way I have never had any business owner in the West Jefferson, Jefferson area ever treat me this way. If you need appliance work or parts, go to Ashe Appliance in Todd - it's worth the drive, stay FAR away from Jefferson Appliance.

Jamie was prompt, knowledgeable and polite. Our Maytag dryer stopped doing it's job and in the middle of winter it was tough going but my husband contacted Jefferson Appliance and they dispatched a technician who showed up on the promised day at the time promised time. It is important to us to have service technicians come when expected as not to have to wait around all day or to be disappointed when, by the end of the day, no one has shown up at all. Jamie was knowledgeable about the cause of the dryer breakdown. He checked out all possible causes to the problem even though he was sure he knew what it was. Found the suspected problem and fixed it. He explained everything he had done and why. He tested the dryer before he left to make sure it was fixed. We highly recommend Jamie and Jefferson Appliance Services!
