Blake's Furniture & Appliances

Over several years, bought a lot of furniture here & was mostly satisfied. But had to take Mr.Blakey to Small Claims court. I notified him in writing my bank card was being replaced & I only had a temporary card until the permanent card came in the mail, which couldn't be used by him for bill payment. The bank made several mistakes. Mr. Blakey came to my home multiple times, screaming at the door after I slammed it in his face. He made multiple harassing phone calls as well. My bank advised me not to give him access to my account. Investigation revealed he withdrew MULTIPLE payments when I allowed him one a month. I brought my official bank issued records. He used his own HANDWRITTEN records with MULTIPLE mistakes. I paid what I owed, plus he had an expensive clothes chest of mine I originally paid nearly $800.00 for. He was to sell that & apply half the price to my bill. He never did. He kept the chest, don't know if he sold it or not but that's the price I had to pay for the NO CONTACT order. He was legally forbidden from contacting me again. I've also not seen bookkeeping that poor & inaccurate since the 70's when my husband & I ran a bookkeeping/tax preparation business from our home for 5 years. You can't prepare an ACCURATE tax return with bookkeeping like that. I would not recommend Blake's to anyone unless you like being stolen from and/or harassed.

Do not, under any circumstances, do business with this place. My poor sister has suffered from chronic pain for the last 20 years. She has spent $20,000 with this business in the last 15 months and purchased a mattress based on their recommendation. First of all, these people should not be making recommendations to people who have medical conditions. they told her the mattress that they sold her was best for her medical problems. That basically amounts to medical advice that they are not qualified to give. They also failed to tell her that they do not offer a comfort return policy. You would be hard-pressed in this day and age to find a mattress company that does not have a comfort policy. The purple mattress has 100 day return policy, and their mattresses are not cheap. When my sister contacted Bartlett home furnishings three days after she purchased the mattress, realizing that she would not be able to sleep on it, they basically told her it was tough luck. A loyal customer who has spent literally tens of thousands of dollars at this business means less to them than having to eat the wholesale cost of this mattress. They took complete and total advantage of a vulnerable person desperate to find a comfortable mattress, took her money, sold her a inferior product that she cannot sleep on, and then told her they couldn’t help her. If this is how you or your family want to be treated then by all means, buy from this store.

Ms. Jana that works there in the store, maybe even one of the owners is such a friendly & helpful person. I had been calling around to different furniture stores trying to locate a floor mirror I found online. I found one at a store closer to me, but I decided to go to Blake's, bc she was very friendly & customer oriented. I would highly recommend them & I will shop with them in the future.
