I’ve been a customer of Reid’s Appliances for over a decade and have purchased at least 12 products from them, including a $20,000 refrigerator just last year. That history apparently means nothing.
I spent $3,000 on an ice maker that worked exactly once. It made a single batch of ice and then failed immediately on its first drain cycle. Completely unusable.
When I contacted Omar, the sales manager, to request a refund or replacement, his response was essentially that because it “made ice once,” it technically worked, so there was nothing he could do. it felt like an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for a defective product.
The only option offered was a vague promise of a service call at some undefined point in the future. No date. No timeframe. No urgency. No accountability.
After years of loyalty and tens of thousands of dollars spent, this is how they handle a clear failure: stall, deflect, and leave the customer holding the bag.
I won’t be doing business with Reid’s again.
