I am very disappointed with my experience at this store. I brought in my dryer because it would not work at my house. The store tested the dryer and confirmed that it was working properly in their shop. Since the dryer worked at the store but not at my home, it should have been clear that the problem was likely with my house outlet or electrical connection, not the dryer itself. Despite this, the store charged me $80 for a replacement part that they claimed fixed the problem. After bringing the dryer home, I discovered that the real issue was my house outlet, and the dryer had been working correctly all along. The replacement part was unnecessary and did not solve the actual problem. I feel that the store should have been honest about their findings instead of charging me for a part that was not needed. A trustworthy repair business should diagnose the true cause of a problem and provide accurate information to its customers. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this store. Customers deserve transparency, fair treatment, and repairs that are actually necessary. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Do not buy any appliances from this guy he picks his appliances up from the junkyard or an alley that’s been rained on for months. I’m assuming I bought a washer from him the first time he brought me one it was loud and his delivery guy told me to deal with him and left it. Then he sends me another washer that has mold in it, and is caked with mud and dirt animal hair all in the drum of the washer and told me that it’s not his problem that’s what used appliances are for. They’re not new so they come as is, he doesn’t care about his customers. All he cares about his money. He does not clean the appliances no more people that don’t buy from him the faster his company will go down please people do not enable someone that takes advantage of people

Do not buy from here , I got a fridge from them 3 days after the fan motor on the fridge broke. I asked them to come out and fix it bc they give you a “warranty” on the fridge. only way you can use that is if you bring the fridge back l. If not they will offer to send someone out on your house for a service charge. After you get scheduled they will never show up Call you 3 hours after the appointment and try to reschedule. After this happened to me I told him we just called a someone else out (who showed up on time). And he got mad and let us know he is just trying to make money. Do not use these guys, they are scam artist.

If I could give zero stars I would. Southport Discount Appliance was recommended to us from a family member who had been very pleased with them 7 years ago. Clearly they have gone down hill in those 7 years. We purchased a used refrigerator from them recently. When it arrived, it wasn't the prettiest but we were hopeful to get it looking better. One day we opened it and noticed DEAD BUGS coming out of the fan. When my partner called, they recommended we spray bug spray in the fan?? When I called, I was very calm and understanding. I reassured John, the owner, that I'm sure this happens when the fridges sit in storage for a while. He became very irritated and said that this never happens. Since that conversation, it was one disrespectful phone call after another. We finally got them to agree to come look at it. Then without my consent tried to bring us a whole new fridge. At that point after how many bugs and the mistreatment, I asked to use the warranty to just get our money back. That really made John upset, and he stated "there has to be something actually wrong with it for us to take it back." As if bugs coming out of your fridge fan isn't a major issue ‍ Finally, he sent someone out to remove the fridge (he was about 30 minutes late) While removing the fridge he scuffed our kitchen floor. The fridge was removed on a Tuesday and we were promised a refun check through the mail "after inspection" on Thursday. We waited until the next week and never received it. Of course, they never sent it, so we had to go pick it up ourselves. Not only were the bugs in our fridge gross, but the behavior and attitudes of John and his employees was downright disgusting. I would avoid this business at all costs.

bought a matching washer and dryer set 2 1/2 months ago. It was a very nice set I paid $600 for. Twice the washer flooded my laundry room. They ordered a part and 3 days later said it was on back order so he would just send me a “nice“ washer to replace it with so I wouldn’t have to go to the laundromat. I was Not home when it was dropped off or I would have told them to take it back and I would wait in the part. They made out like a bandit getting by far the better end of the deal. I wouldn’t give $50 for this washer they replaced it with. Its horrible. I doubt they could even have sold this it looks so bad. Not only does it not match it’s not the same color it’s as basic as basic can get it’s smaller than the one I bought and there are scratches and dents all over it down to the metal. I’m just beside myself with disappointment. It’s sad because I’ve bought from there for a long time. I will never buy from them again.
