My wife and I went to Lytton’s today to buy a Speed Queen washer and dryer and a GE upright freezer. Upon entering we were met by a little man who sat at a desk just inside and to the left of the store’s entrance. I didn’t get his name but he was bearded and appeared to be in his 30s maybe. For the duration of our time in the store, (approx 15 min) he treated us very rudely, as if he were angry with us just for being there, although we had never met before, nor had we had any conflict whatsoever. It was oddly hostile, for lack of a better term, and puzzling. When it came time to pay the nearly 5K bill, my wife and I looked at each other and, sharing the exact same thoughts, agreed without speaking that we would not be spending our money in a business that tolerated this kind of salesmanship. The great news is that, because of this angry little man, we left Lytton’s and drove a few miles North on Hillside Street to Metro Appliances where we found the EXACT same 3 appliances, ALL at cheaper prices than Lytton’s for an approximate $150 savings. PLUS, unlike Lytton’s, Metro ALSO offered us a U.S. Veteran discount. We were thrilled!!! In the end - Kindness counts. Politeness pays. Manners matter.
