I’ve been a loyal customer of Cowboy Maloney’s for years, but this most recent experience was incredibly disappointing.
We came in knowing exactly what washer and dryer we wanted, yet the salesman repeatedly pushed us toward a different brand at a higher price point. After that, we were given the runaround about our chosen units not being in stock, along with claims that he couldn’t reach the warehouse.
When I asked if we could get a similar washer from the same brand (with only about a $100 price difference) at the price of the unit we wanted originally (mind you, it’s on their sales floor and was discussed as “in stock”) - his response was sarcastic and dismissive—something along the lines of “sure, I’ll throw in that $2,000 TV too”—rather than being helpful. It felt like continued pressure to upsell rather than assist.
I eventually asked about availability at the Flowood location, which he agreed to check. He told us we could pick it up there, which was fine—until we got to checkout, when he suddenly insisted we pick it up from the High Street location because it was “easier for them.” At that point, I made it clear we would be doing what was convenient for us as the customer.
To make matters worse, when we attempted to pay by check, there was no verification process (no ID checked), and then we were told the system wouldn’t accept it and that we needed another form of payment. By then, we were completely frustrated and chose to walk away.
As we were leaving, another staff member made a comment that implied we might be writing bad checks, which was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
We went to the Flowood location instead and had a completely different experience—purchased the exact washer and dryer we wanted and had it paid for and loaded within 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, this visit has seriously impacted our trust. We will not be returning to the Jackson location again.
