Honest review about Imperial and Riccar under warranty limited services:
Imperial did repair sensor boards this year, after my insisting on my 8 year warranty work that is covered. I did not get the 2nd free maintenance service 2 years ago as I did with Silver Sweepers previously. Also I had paid for some warranty work with Imperial 2 years ago before I read my handbook and read that parts (and labor) are covered for 8 years.
Ricarr Corp shows that Imperial Vac does not have an active account with them but they are on their website for the only warranty service in this area.
All said, go to Imperial for a Sebo but their doing Ricarr warranty work is a financially thankless job for them and frustrating one for the customer. I don't like insisting on what they should do.
Also I don't think they want my business as I called over a month ago to get the upholstery tool ordered through them for reduced shipping cost to me.
( Ricarr apparently only uses FED EX and it's an added cost for the store if only ordering a few items). Imperial put the wrong upholstery tool on my vacuum after servicing it. I did look everywhere at home, in my car but it's gone and it fits tight in the back of the Ricarr.
They replaced my lost, more expensive upholstery tool with a cheaper incorrect one and when I brought the incorrect tool back and brought it to their attention they could not find my tool either. I didn't want to put Imperial out at the time and order and pay me a new one and I told him I would call later. I did call over a month ago but again the tool loss and order has been forgotten.
I will go elsewhere to order the tool and of course for my future Ricarr warranty work but Osage Beach store is only open 4 days a week with short hours, and it's a drive!
I love my Ricarr vac but Ricarr Corp service availability is very poor now with the 3 prior Springfield Ricarr service stores retired and closed.
