Whoever was working today ruined our experience. So incredibly rude. Guy with long dark hair in two braids. We arrived before 6, the hours said they closed at 7. My boyfriend just moved in to a new apartment and has no kitchen supplies. His apt is out in Ridgewood but we schlepped all the way to Clinton hill to come here. I even asked him why we went all the way just for this store and he said he wanted to support a small local business instead of IKEA or Amazon. Our experience is why people continue to buy from big box businesses, I think. The guy at the counter must hate his job cuz he didn’t do it well at all. We walked in and he didn’t even acknowledge us, fine, whatever, we just start shopping. My boyfriend needs to supply his whole kitchen, so he was prepared to drop a pretty penny doing so. We only got through like a third of the store before the guy told us he was closing in 10 min. The store hours say they’re open til 7, over an hour later. We immediately felt the pressure to hurry up. As were skimming over the shelves and my boyfriend is now having to decide what to prioritize and what to come back for, I said to the guy “I thought this place was open til 7?” He said “not today.” I almost pressed and explained we came all the way out here just for this store but refrained and just locked back in to helping my man figure out what to get. As we’re checking out, another customer comes in and the guy behind the counter immediately stops him and says that he’s closing. The other customer said “can I just grab a sheet pan?” Guy Behind the counter Very clearly annoyed says “ugh, you better make it quick.” HOW RUDE??? Like do you not want money?? A third customer comes in, he also immediately get stopped And told that the store was closing. He wanted to drop off some knives to get sharpened and luckily The guy said ok. It was all just so rushed and frustrating. My boyfriend still has so much to buy because we weren’t granted the time to shop. I think we were in and out in 10 min. My man still ended up spending $200, but would’ve spent double that and been able to get everything in one go if this guy didn’t essentially kick us out. Hours on the door and online says they’re open til 7. Don’t know why this guy closed an hour early but the business lost money and he was so incredibly rude about it. Didn’t greet us, never offered any assistance, disrespected customers, like??? So odd and upsetting. Went out of the way to support local and thats What we got.
