For the past 20 years we have been faithful to Berger appliance but unfortunately this might be changing after our most recent experience purchasing a Speed Queen dryer. After this lackluster experience on 3/9/2026 we are still waiting for a call back after we were assured someone would get back to us. We purchased our dryer which included both installation and delivery. The dryer arrived on schedule but unfortunately the installation was unsuccessful. Being this is our first electric dryer; we had our licensed electrician install a new dedicated outlet for the appliance which was completed and tested prior to the dryer delivery. The Berger installers plugged the device into the socket which they claim did not work…… and then questioned if our electrician was licensed. We have been using this electrician for over 20 years without an issue. After questioning the workmanship of our electrician Berger Appliance installers left our home without the unit in working order even though installation was included in our purchase. We have never had this level of negligence with any purchase or installation from Berger appliance. It was clear the installation had not been done with proper care or diligence we are accustomed to from this company. What is most frustrating is appliance installation should be a straightforward service, especially from a company that presents itself as experienced in appliance sales and installation. Instead, we were left questioning our electrician who was at our house for a service call within minutes, after the Berger Installers left, to demonstrate his work was installed correctly. Thankfully Alonzo found the problem immediately, and removed the green jumper wire from the neutral & ground otherwise the GFI breaker would trip which was the cause of our issue. Our electrician has been doing work in our home for many years and he is licensed in Westchester for his exceptional workmanship. We expected professional installation and peace of mind after making a large appliance purchase. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend Berger Appliance improve the training of their installation team. Customers deserve careful, thorough work when installing major household appliances. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially when we needed to call our electrician for an emergency house call which ended up costing us almost $200. I hope your company takes steps to ensure future customers receive the professional service they expect.

Berger Appliance is consistently excellent. They’re reliable, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure things are done right. Every interaction I’ve had with them has been smooth and professional. It’s hard to find service like this anymore, and I genuinely appreciate the way they operate. Highly recommend.

Highly recommnded - don't go anywhere else for appliances! I love Berger Appliance! i apologize for the delay in leaving a review. My washer died and i have a full size washer dryer in a closet in a local condo complex. Jim K. was great! he got me exactly what i wanted and the washer only - the delivery crew was fantastic! they got it out of the closet, removed the dryer - took away the broken washer and replaced it and put everything back together! One of the guys even asked for cleaner and cleaned out the floor of the closet for me!!!! These guys are unbelievable competent, efficient and polite! I highy recommend them! And they are local! they really care about doing a good job!

Extremely Disappointed – A Long List of Installation Failures and Headaches In 2016, we purchased an entire kitchen’s worth of appliances from Berger: GE Profile dishwasher, slide-in range and oven, microwave, French-door refrigerator with water and ice, and an Electrolux washer-dryer set with pedestal storage. While we chose Berger based on its longstanding reputation, what we received was an experience riddled with careless installation, missing components, costly repairs, and ongoing inconvenience. Dishwasher Issues: • The installation was rushed and incomplete. The technicians failed to install the leak tray and sensor that came with the GE dishwasher—crucial parts that prevent water damage. They either threw it out with the box or ignored it completely. • The dishwasher wasn’t grounded, a basic electrical safety step. As a result, the motherboard burned out a few years later, costing us over $600 in parts and labor, plus another $150 to bring in an electrician to ground it. • A leak from a poorly connected water line caused damage to the downstairs neighbor’s ceiling, which we had to cover out-of-pocket. • We’re now having to pay for and install the leak tray ourselves—again, a part that should have come with the dishwasher and been properly installed by Berger’s team. Range/Oven: • The slide-in range was not leveled correctly. It sits unevenly, causing food to cook and burn unevenly on one side. Something so basic should never have been overlooked. Refrigerator: • The French-door fridge doors don’t align or close properly, leading to spoiled food. Yet another technician has to be called to address it. Washer/Dryer: • The units were installed unevenly, causing vibrations, loud shaking, and items falling. One pedestal drawer doesn’t close at all—turns out the magnet was never installed. • Plumbing hookups weren’t connected properly and required another plumber to fix. Overall, it’s not just about the cost of fixing these problems—it’s the stress, wasted time, and lack of accountability that makes this experience unacceptable. We trusted Berger to deliver professionalism and care. Instead, we’ve spent years dealing with the aftermath of sloppy work. I genuinely hope this helps future customers make a more informed decision. Appliances are supposed to make life easier—not create years of stress and repair bills.

I am in the middle of a terrible experience with this store. I went in to buy a washer/dryer 3 weeks ago and chose a set on showroom floor that was not in stock. Salesman showed me photos of a set which was “the same just larger capacity,” which I then purchased. Upon delivery I found out it was 2” higher and $60 more for each machine- two important facts the salesman neglected to mention. I complained and they agreed to swap machines to original ones I chose once they came in to their warehouse. Then I was told only washer available, dryer unspecified wait time. A week later, the washer was delivered WITH the dryer (which apparently was another customer’s order). Two days later, I went to pull a sheet out of the washer and the center agitator pole piece came up with it. In 50 years of owning appliances, I’ve never seen anything like that. You could hear a loose screw shaking around somehow in the cylinder. I called store to complain and they offered to call GE service -which was unacceptable to me on a brand-new machine. Now they are saying they are willing to swap it once another machine comes into their warehouse in a few weeks, but they will not take back the dryer. This is an unreasonable, unacceptable solution, since I need a W/D set. Lacking their cooperation, I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. First they deliver a set whose specs I was unaware of. Second they deliver a machine meant for another customer. Third, that machine is defective. Three strikes, you’re out. UPDATE: Owner has just agreed to take back machines and give full credit. While I commend him on his courtesy, I can’t honestly recommend this store now, since the overall experience was not good..
