We recently purchased all of the appliances for our kitchen renovation, and working with Ryan McElroy was truly one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever had—period. Ryan is, without exaggeration, the best sales representative we have ever worked with. From the very beginning, he demonstrated an incredible depth of knowledge about the appliance world. He knows the products, brands, specs, and nuances inside and out, and was able to guide us through every decision with clarity and confidence. What really sets Ryan apart, however, is his work ethic and follow-through. He is extremely diligent, responsive, and detail-oriented. Every question we had—no matter how small—was answered quickly and thoughtfully. Throughout the process, he made himself available and stayed fully engaged, ensuring that nothing slipped through the cracks. Our kitchen project had its fair share of construction-related curveballs, as most renovations do. Ryan was an absolute partner throughout the entire process. He helped us navigate multiple challenges along the way, from making small but critical adjustments to order forms to coordinating directly with several of our contractors to ensure everything would fit, install properly, and work exactly as intended. Even more impressive was Ryan’s commitment after the appliances were installed. Months later, he continued to check in and help ensure that any small adjustments or follow-up items were addressed. That level of care and accountability is incredibly rare these days. Simply put, Ryan goes far above and beyond what you would ever expect from a sales rep. He treats the project like it’s his own and genuinely cares about getting everything right for his customers. If you are buying appliances, do yourself a favor and work with Ryan McElroy. I truly cannot recommend him highly enough.

I initially wanted to leave my original review; however, after my comments and more than four months of repeated phone calls, Universal Appliance Kitchen finally sent a technician to repair the refrigerator, and it is now working. During the final visit, they discovered that a previous technician had pinched one of the wires, which caused the earlier repair to fail. I remain wary of these very expensive appliances, as the company was eager to sell but far less responsive when it came to repairs. That said, it is fair to note that the refrigerator is now functioning properly.

I had an awful experience with this company from the sales person all the way to the owner, Igor. I built a new home and we bought all high end appliances. Our order was just under $80k. And I highly recommend any other company, even Home Depot or Loews will be way better. Despite my contractor’s warning, I was excited to use Universal. I live in studio city, and we went to the show room there on the corner of Ventura and Laurel. Amer (sales person) seemed to be knowledgeable and sold us a suite of appliances which included a Wolf kitchen, Bosch dishwasher, Truline outdoor refrigerators, and Scottsman icemakers. One year prior to our home being finished we selected and allegedly purchased all of our appliances. I was also attracted to the alleged fact that they install the appliances. When a year later came and we needed the appliances, we never got the Bosch dishwasher, 2 of the appliances were installed wrong, and one of the appliances was defective only to wait 6 months for a part (oh and they don’t install anything outside.) I went from the sales person (Amer), to the store manager (Maida), and then the owner (Igor). Igor told me these troubles were caused by me because I purchased the appliances to early. I wish I was that creative to come up with that excuse. I asked Igor what his competitive advantage was with is business. He said, it was his nice showroom which displays the product. So, don’t be me and feel guilty seeing a nice showroom of appliances and then purchasing from another vendor that can actually fulfill your order because the owner literally told me that is what I should have done.

I purchased all of my appliances for my condo remodel at Universal Appliance. Shawnie was my dedicated salesperson. There was an issue with the older model refrigerator that I had purchased at a discount. Universal Appliance replaced it with the most up-to-date model at the same price. It took a few months to get everything installed due to an issue with the refrigerator which was a manufacturing defect. Shawnie went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. If you're in need of new appliances, I highly recommend Universal.

Bought all of my appliances from MD at the Calabasas store. Got me the best deal from all of the appliances stores that we went to, they set me up with a great package. The only down side was shipping timelines which I dont hold against the store of MD. Ultimately, everything worked out and looks great. Also, very happy with Thermador, they make a great product!
