DeWhitt's does not back the product they sell. While I found this business and it's representatives pleasant to deal with and fairly dependable what has and continuing to be frustrating and confusing is their lack of support and backing of the customer. We have an appliance that is nothing less than a "LEMON"! We have gotten no support from the manufacturer or this business. We have asked for a refund and it's been refused. We have asked for a replacement appliance and we have been refused. We have been customer's of DeWhitt's for over two decades but this lack of customer satisfaction will end this relationship unless they come through with some definitive action. There are a lot of appliance stores in the area, if you can afford to lose customers do nothing.

I recently purchased a dishwasher from DeWhitt’s appliances in Portland location for $547. The same model was available at Home Depot for $519 brand new, but I chose DeWit to support a local business and to get the unit installed quickly. My son picked up the dishwasher, and an employee assisted him with loading it into his SUV. The unit was placed on its back with the door facing up. When he arrived at my home and opened the SUV — before the dishwasher was removed from the vehicle — we immediately noticed a dent/crease in the center/top portion of the door. This was visible as soon as the vehicle hatch was opened. We went ahead with installation hoping it would be less noticeable once installed, but unfortunately the damage is very visible in person. I contacted the store right away, explained the issue, and offered to have them inspect it since the reflective finish makes the dent difficult to photograph clearly. I requested either a replacement door panel or a reasonable partial refund. The response I received focused on the fact that it was an outlet purchase and that my name was not on the order (my son handled pickup). I was told there was nothing further they could do and that I should “just go ahead and use it and enjoy the savings.” What’s disappointing is that there really weren’t any savings. I paid more than the current sale price at Home Depot for the same model, and a major retailer would have accepted a return or exchange for a visibly damaged unit. I did not expect paying full price — or more than retail — to mean accepting visible cosmetic damage. I’m sharing this so others know to carefully inspect items before leaving the store and to confirm who is listed on the order at the time of purchase.

Really disappointing, went to DeWhitt's on 1/18/26 after a friend refered us. Wanted to look at an above range microwave. We were comparing prices after we had looked at some similar options at Hamilton' appliances in Milwaukie. They had 3 KitchenAid microwaves and Glenn (the sales associate) recommended one that was also an air fryer. He highly recommened it as he himself had an airfryer microwave combo and told us it was well worth having. After comparing prices it seemed like a good deal and my wife thought having an air fryer as well as a microwave would be a good thing. Purchased it for $550.00 installed it and after a few weeks decided to check out the "Air Fryer" feature. ..Unfortunately there is no Air Fryer feature. This was the main selling point and the reason we purchased it. I called DeWhitt and Glenn mysteriously had no recollection of telling me it was also an air fryer. He was the one that told me it was...? I called my wife, and like me she couldn't believe what I told her. Her words were "that's the main reason we bought it..?". Really disappointed as it has been used and now there is no way to return it. It does work great, but it doesn't have the feature we were told it had. That is 100% fact. We won't be returning to DeWhitt again.

I’ve made two purchases through Dewhitt so far, and both have worked out great. I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer set through Kelly, which I absolutely love, and later purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher based on Glenn’s recommendation. Although I did experience an issue with the brand-new dishwasher not drying dishes properly, Dewhitt went above and beyond to make things right. They coordinated with KitchenAid and replaced the entire unit under warranty, handling the installation at no cost to me. While I wasn’t impressed with their service partner, Appliance Hospital, I really appreciate Dewhitt’s commitment to standing behind their products and ensuring I ended up with a working appliance in the end. I’ll definitely continue shopping with them in the future.

Highly recommend DeWhitt! Kelley went above and beyond to help us find a washer that was quality and still in our price range. He was super patient, even with our indecisiveness. I appreciate all the help we received and really sound advice. It gave us peace of mind to know that the appliances they carry have parts here in the U.S. and they even carry some appliances Made in the USA! Great local business and would highly recommend them.
