Gresham ReStore - Habitat for Humanity

I haven't been to this location for a few months. Store looks amazing g ! Everything is organized , clean very well thought out. They even have appliance now. Washers , dryers , refrigerators.. etc.. I could have spent hours , browsing and dreaming of what items I wanted to purchase . I will most definitely be frequenting this store !

Pricing here has gotten a little ridiculous. The store looks like a dump and is just full of stuff that will never get sold and the price tags on them make you think you are in a boutique store and that everything is in immaculate condition and curated. Seems this location is making the same mistake as the Portland location. You are in the hood and get free stuff donated. Guess I will just ironically have to go to nicer areas to get better pricing. Employees are mostly nice and I do still find some decent stuff, just not a huge fan of the direction this store is going in and would advise them to reconsider their strategy going forward.

I don't get this store anymore. I used to come here and find some decent deals to restore my home. I'd find something 3 of 4 times. Now, I just waste 45 minutes each visit shaking my head in confusion at the prices and the poor condition they consider acceptable for donations. I can't remember the last time I bought something here. It's really sad to be honest and I will no longer make it a destination stop. They have expanded their "collectibles" section, but there are very little "collectibles" - mostly overpriced items they want to put near the register to keep an eye on. Case in point - $150 for 3 Pryex round casserole dishes without lids. These sell on eBay with lids for $15-20 each. Without lids, lucky to get $8-12. Mortal Combat game controller - ReStore price $150. Sold on eBay for $40-100 (higher priced includes original box and everything else). Cheap die cast cars $25, eBay sell price $8.99. Here's the thing about using eBay for reference - eBay is an international online market that has millions of customers each day looking for specific items. ReStore is a local shop that gets a few hundred visitors daily that may luck upon something they need or want. What really frustrates me is what they are accepting for donations. This sofa in the photos has no business being on the floor at all. It is filthy - covered in pet hair, stains, paw prints and yet they are asking $50 for it. What this tells me is that they are not considering what is coming in. If they're overlooking this, you can make a reasonable assumption they are overlooking things you can't see - like pests including fleas, bedbugs, etc. Unfortunately, pests move from one piece of furniture to another.

Think of a garage sale, you might find a treasure someone else considered garbage. That's what it's like coming here. I always find something neat or something I need. My husband and I have been searching for TV dinner tray tables, we now have 2. We found one before today and one today, that's how it works here. Hundreds of items available for dollars. I bought a pack of 5 real amethyst coasters with wooden lining for only $1! We have also been coming back, looking for the perfect used large ottoman to replace my dogs old, smelly one. We will be back!
